Fabric Textures become print

16 May 2019

Textile decors, threads and textures, reproduced in high definition and with threedimensional effects on sensitive fabrics, as well as cleverly placed lace and macramé: for the S/S 2020 lingerie season, Eurojersey presents new developments in ecoprint and 3D print technologies.

The new lingerie prints include a host of developments, including colored pigments printed onto the even surface of Sensitive Fabrics that bring to life tone-on-tone decorative designs, such as brocade effects and jacquard details; metallic pigments for lurex effects; a cascade of lacquers or metallic glitters combined with white pigments to create a stream of shiny-matte effects with a nod to fashion finishings. These designs reproduce the latest textile trends, combining aesthetics and sustainable development thanks to the patented Ecoprint technique, which boast a low environmental impact (60% lower water consumption, 30% less energy consumption and 60% less greenhouse gas). Another key asset of the S/S 2020 collection, digital printing brings with it many innovative elements. The magic lies in 3D Print technology that allows colors and graphics to be printed to a very precise level of definition, as well as permitting the generation of very high resolution textures on the ultra smooth surface of Sensitive Fabrics, creating the optical illusion of a truly threedimensional fabric. The new developments concern the reproduction of Chantilly lace, knits and macramé on Sensitive Fabrics: with the Lace Placement Print technique, decoration can be positioned and printed, calibrating the design exactly onto the finished garment so as to avoid any fabric waste during cutting and manufacturing. The emphasis has been placed on animalier prints and material-effect textures, which take on a realistic 3D effect thanks to a play of light and dark colors. Due to ultra-high definition technology, the yarn-dyed effect simulates the look of intertwined yarns which have already been dyed, creating textured weaves or microgeometries printed onto the dyed ground with surprising uniformity and precision. Launched for ready-to-wear and also offered in the swimwear sector, this effect is also available for lingerie with an impeccable finish in printed color and detail, even when the fabric is fully stretched.
