Aurora Alba New 2018 Collection at Boao Fashion Art Week

The interplay between art and fashion dominated Hainan province’s Boao this winter, as the coastal city launched its first-ever fashion art week from February 1-5, 2018. Of the 18 designer brands in attendance, Aurora Alba was the only lingerie brand invited to participate, joining the ranks of fashion designers, artists, KOLs, and over one thousand members of the press from 10 different countries.

When asked about lingerie trends for the coming year, Aurora Alba’s creator and designer Jessica Xu expressed her strong interest in making bra sets more vivid and exciting. Having seen many top fashion brands incorporate lingerie concepts into daywear in 2017, such as visible corsets and bodysuits, this cross-over style would extend to intimates design, making lingerie more wearable as a fashion piece rather than hiding it. Xu believes that contemporary lingerie targets modern women in metropolitan cities who are confident and independent, as well as ladylike. She believes 2018 will see designers become increasingly creative and bold, blending all kinds of materials, colors, and patterns to show more identity and personality.

“Reconcile” is the theme of Aurora Alba’s latest fashion show, reflecting the idea that everyone holds within themselves a range of qualities and characteristics that must be reconciled internally to reach a better self. Visually, this notion will be represented with contrasting colors and a variety of fabrics, blended together artfully.

The Floral Whisper collection features baby pink and aloe green to portray a romantic spring and summer mood. Also on offer is a casual sportswear collection, using contrasting color tones and different types of materials for a soft, comfortable fit.

As an emerging lingerie brand de force in China, Aurora Alba is dedicated to building a label that represents a new kind of woman and her modern lifestyle, and plans to extend its influence even further in the future.
